What is live audio translation?
Live audio translation converts speech during a call into translated speech for the listener. CallPayMin also shows translated captions, so you can hear and read the conversation in your selected language. It is automated translation, not a human interpreter.
Can I use captions without translated audio?
Yes. Choose captions only if you prefer to hear the original voice and read the translation. Choose live audio + captions to hear translated speech and follow the text. Both participants must agree before translation starts.
Which languages are supported?
The current translated audio output list includes 42 languages, including English, Spanish, German, Polish, Hindi, Kannada, Vietnamese and Japanese. Choose from the languages offered in the call screen or API capabilities response. Recognition and translation quality can vary by language, accent, background noise and mixed-language speech.
Does it work between web and mobile?
The translation flow supports web-to-web, mobile-to-mobile and web-to-mobile calls. Use an updated app and a working microphone. Browser audio playback may require a tap. A stable connection and headphones help keep speech clear.
How much does live translation cost?
Live translation is an optional $0.10-per-minute add-on, in addition to the Maven or expert’s displayed call rate. Both people consent before translation starts. Review the call screen for the rate and mode before accepting.
Can I use CallPayMin for conversations across languages?
Use it for one-on-one expert conversations, coaching and professional discussions across supported languages. Companies building their own calling experience can explore the CallPayMin organization API.
Is translation instantaneous or guaranteed accurate?
Translation happens during the conversation, with a processing delay. It is not guaranteed to be instant or error-free. Use short, clear turns and confirm important details. For consequential legal, medical or safety decisions, use a qualified interpreter where needed.
Does this support group meetings?
This feature is for two-person audio and video calls. The live translation API does not currently cover group meetings or meeting rooms.
How fast is the translation during a call?
Translated speech typically arrives 1.5 to 3 seconds after the speaker finishes a short sentence. Captions appear slightly sooner because text can stream as the sentence is still being translated. Short, clear turns stay closer to the fast end of that range.
Can I try live translation before paying for it?
Both people must opt in before translation starts, so there is no accidental charge. The first minute of a CallPayMin call includes a free trial on most expert pages, and translation itself is clearly disclosed as a $0.10/min add-on on the call screen before you turn it on.
Who can see what we said during a translated call?
Translation happens in real time and is not saved anywhere by default. Captions appear only on the two participants’ devices during the call. Neither participant can view the other side’s captions or transcript after the call unless both have agreed to a recorded summary. Review the privacy policy for details on how audio is handled during translation.
